The gender of the coxswain shall be open so that a men’s crew may be coxed by a woman and a women’s crew by a man.

The minimum weight for a coxswain wearing the racing uniform is 55 kilogrammes (“kgs”) in all events, men’s, women’s and mixed. To make up this weight, a coxswain may carry a maximum of 15 kgs deadweight which shall be placed in the boat as close as possible to this person.

In mixed crew events half the crew, excluding the coxswain, shall be women and half shall be men. The coxswain may be of either gender.

Members of the same crew shall compete with uniform clothing (shirt, shorts and any additional garments – headwear, socks etc.). For composite crews it could be of any colour (not necessary club’s), but uniform.

The regulation regarding uniform clothing will not be enforced in mixed crews – Sunday events.

Each competitor shall be responsible for his own health and fitness.

Every masters rower must be in a position to prove his/her age by presentation of an official document (passport or identity card).

THE STARTING PROCEDURE

Due to dense time schedule Quick start procedure will be used.

After announcing “Two minutes” crews shall be ready for start.

When boats are aligned, instead of a roll call, starter will say “QUICK START”, “ATTENTION” and turn red traffic lights ON. Afterwards he/she will give the start signal using:

  • GREEN light
  • and simultaneously an AUDIBLE SIGNAL through the loudspeakers.

In the case of the system failure, start will be given using red flag and a command “GO”.
