RULES OF RACING

 

 

FISA RULES OF RACING - WORLD ROWING MASTERS REGATTA

 

Races will be held under the FISA Rules of Racing.

 

A rower may compete as a Master from the beginning of the year during which he attained the age of 27.

 

A crew can be entered in the age category corresponding to the age attained during the current year or in any younger category.

There is no progression system so a medal is awarded to the winner of each race

 

Age categories do not apply to coxswains.

 

Female coxswains will be permitted in men’s crews and vice versa.

 

In composite crew events half the crew, excluding the coxswain, shall be women and half men. The coxswain may be of either gender. The minimum weight of coxswains in composite crews is 50 kg.

 

Each competitor shall be responsible for his own health and fitness and able to prove his or her age by producing an official document.

 

Members of the same crew shall compete with uniform clothing (shirt, shorts and any additional garments). The regulation regarding uniform clothing will not be enforced in mixed crews.

 

Every masters rower must be in a position to prove his/her age by presentation of an official document (passport or identity card).
